SILVER LAKES - Griff Jumonville is a family man.
     Maybe that's why he understands the value of a quality custom-built home.     Father of three, Jumonville and his wife Linda are a busy couple. Griff has been a Silver Lakes T-Ball coach for three years and an active member of the Helendale Chamber of Commerce for three years as well.

Jumonville sets sights on High Desert

     The communities of Beverly Hills, Belair and Hollywood are going to miss Griff Jumonville. For years Jumonville Construction has erected gorgeous, palatial estates that have kept those well-to-do communities doing their thing: showcasing incredible homes.
     But the love of his wife and the call of his beautiful children turned Jumonville away from the glitz and glitter of the Tinsel Town territory and instilled in his heart a yearning for the purity and peace of home.      This summer Jumonville Construction in conjunction with Elite Realty will proudly present the first furnished model home in Silver Lakes since the 1970's.
     Located at 27514 Silver Lakes Parkway, the unique and affordable custom model home is under construction and will be open for viewing within the next few weeks. When it is opened, the model will be the first furnished model home in Silver Lakes in more than two decades.

The home is 1,837 square feet, is jam packed with extras, like marbled tile in the tub and shower, and is listed with Elite Realty. Jumonville said eventually he will sell the funished model home, but will build another home just like it, with his customer's individual decorating choices on another lot in the area.
     Jumonville said the model home and its sister homes will be a definite asset to any community in which it is built. Jumonville Construction will have a grand opening celebration and barbecue as soon as the model is complete. G.E. Jumonville brings upscale design to High Desert

     Griff Jumonville of G.E. Jumonville Construction invites home shoppers to Silver Lakes to see his company's model home and the many attractive amenities of the two-lake recreation community.
     Over the past 20 years, G.E. Jumanville Construction has built large residences in upscale locales such as Beverly Hills and Arcadia, and has provided homes for Bob Hope and Disney family members. G.E. Jumonville Construction also does commercial building for In and Out Corp. and California Pizza Kitchen, and has construction experience throughout California, Arizona and Nevada.
     Today, from its headquarters in Silver Lakes, the company brings its "million dollar" sensibilities to play in bright highly imaginative homes. The posh home designs from Southern California's foothill communities "have been reinterpreted to fit High Desert tastes and pocketbooks," Jumonville said. Their interiors are distinguished by thick walls, numerous decorative niches, cam lighting and rounded columns that accent and facilitate interesting room orientations.

     The model encompasses more than 2,000 square feet, and maximizes impact on the visitor from the entry courtyard inward. The home's elegant entry boasts a sensible but deluxe steel door that opens to reveal large floor tiles in the foyer-like entry.
     The formal dining room is designated by columns supporting thick, soffit-like beams. Overhead cam lighting imparts a stage-like quality to the setting. The dining room is a versatile space that can be enclosed for use as a den or bedroom, or opened into the adjacent living room to create a flowing great room.
     The living room is open and angled at about 45 degrees from the dining room. Occupying one of its walls is a raised fireplace that has a beautifully tiled surround, enhanced on each side by entertainment or curio niches with arched tops. The room includes a vaulted ceiling with an overhead fan, pot shelves and a sliding-glass door to the covered patio, which features colored, stamped concrete slabs, simulating the look of huge pavers.
     An airy dining nook - brightened by bay-style windows with low sills - is entered through an arched entry from the living room. It is open to the kitchen, which is angled parallel to the living room. This area offers a bright and well-equipped food preparation space with blonde maple cabinetry topped by granite slabs and complenented by tumbled-tile splashbacks. Built-in, Euro-style appliances are placed around the kitchen's island bar.
     With plenty of volume, the master suite includes a large bedroom area with corner windows. The visually appealing bath area includes a deep soaking tub and a separate shower with a wide seating shelf, both accented by cultured marble surrounds. A glass block window brightens the tub area, which is opened up by a sloping ceiling.
     A door-and-a-half entry opens into a huge wardrobe closet with installed shelving and clothes poles. Pot shelves, arches, a vaulted ceiling, bright brass hardware and a two-tone paint scheme enhance the suite, which opens out through a sliding-glass door to part of the house-length patio.
     A split plan, the home's two secondary bedrooms are entered through a vestibule off the front entry. Other standard details and features are hand-textured ceilings, soft-touch electrical switches, wide strips of floor molding, a concrete tiled roof, an interior laundry room and an attached, two-car garage.

     The G.E. Jumonville Construction model is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Plan 2010 built on a home buyer's level lot, will cost $158, 800. This includes all the model home's demonstrated upgrades except landscaping and block walls.
     To visit the G.E. Jumonville model home, drive on National Trails Highway to Vista Road in Helendale. Turn west and follow Vista Road as it winds across the Mojave River, and drive beyond the intersection with Helendale Road to the crest in the road, where one can't help but notice the view of North Lake. Turn right on Lakeview Drive and proceed to the property at 27623 Lakeview Drive.
     Home buyers can choose from a collection of 40 standard floor plans, or work with G.E. Jumonville Construction's in-house designer to develop a semi-custom home or a completely customized residence. "We're really customer service oriented," Jumonville said. "We treat every customer like they're our very best customer." Jumonville said it takes about four to six months from concept to move-in, assuming the designated land is ready for construction.
